About Frogmat
Frogmat was invented and developed by Kenneth Frogbrook initially in response to the devastation he has seen caused to the natural environment and wildlife in the Shetland Islands where he farmed.By using stems of oat straw to remove oil from beneath the feathers of contaminated birds that he found stranded on the beach he discovered that the cellulose on the straw acted as a wick absorbing and removing oil.
After many further years of development and scientific testing with various types of netting and filler materials Frogmat proved to be more diverse in its capabilities than was originally envisaged and has found greater general uses worldwide that can help preserve the environment naturally.
Frogmat is a bio-degradable netting that contains a suitable filler medium. This is usually barley straw or oat straw depending on the situation it is used in and is manufactured using our specially developed, transportable production machines.

Frogmat has a proven performance record in the applications it has been used for worldwide and is in production in Australia where it is being used successfully to stabilise and revegetate constructed earthen embankments, sand dune restoration and in the mining industry proving itself in previously undiscovered applications.
Frogmat has been approved by English Nature for use on a triple SSI (sites of special scientific interest) and has the advantage of being able to be stored for up to five years in the correct conditions.

"It certainly helped us out of a difficult situation and the product performed superbly, allowing our visitors, including those with prams and in wheelchairs to move across difficult conditions in safety and comfort. "
Sidmouth Festival
"...the Frogmat instantly provided two clean paths on top of muddy areas allowing easy access for our customers. Without Frogmat it would have proved extremely difficult for our customers to navigate around the festival site. The speed and ease of laying and the effectiveness of the Frogmat make it an extremely valuble product for any outdoor show or festival organiser to have at their disposal, and I would not hesitate to recommend it."
Bristol Ballon Fiestas Limited
"It transformed walkways around the administration compound which were formerly impossible to traverse into stable paths. We used it in parallel lengths for 4x4 vehicles to enter and exit the launch site."
IW Council
"The Isle of Wight Council had a major problem with algae infestation on their boating lakes at both Ryde and Sandown. Frogmat has been used successfully for 4 years. To quote the Council "The application of Frogmat has provided the council with a cost effective solution to its water treatment."
